Bridal & Special Events FAQ
Yes, we will travel accordingly for a travel time and fuel up charge. If your venue is out of state we will be happy to accommodate the cost of plane fare and hotel accommodations.
We would advise if you'd like to give your bridal party and family the gift of hair and/or makeup that you be sure to include gratuity or ask your guests to bring cash for a tip.
The venue will not however if your dress has a sexy low back or a lace neckline for example we would advise a style that will show off the feature of your dress.
No problem! With enough notice, we can hire a 3-person team to get hair done in plenty of time. If you by chance had something come up and are hiring us last minute that's ok too. We advise structured up hair, braided updos, or uniform styles for large bridal parties if you have morning or afternoon wedding time to help our stylists execute the style in 30 minutes or under.
Typically the bride is the last person on the hair and makeup itinerary for the day with an hour to spare. This way your hair and makeup are fresh and last you well into cake cutting, dancing, and late-night celebrating. Also if any wedding day mishaps happen, as they sometimes do, you will have more than enough time to be ready to go with time to spare.
When your hair is clean and conditioned it causes the hair to fall out quicker. Having a bit of environmental wear has helped your hair to already be adjusted to the humidity. It also helps to not use conditioner on your hair the wash before your trial and the big day. Or if you have to condition your hair make sure you take an extra 2 or 3 minutes in the shower to rinse all the conditioner off your hair! The conditioner will weigh the hair down and create a product buildup that can factor in the loss of the style and products we use to build structure into your style.
If they are going to do all down hair or even half up half down hair then yes they need to have 1-day old hair. We highly advise against all down curled hair for the wedding party, as in Florida humidity and oil from the hands can work against the longevity of the style.
All guests need to come with completely dry hair, or they will be charged with an extra blowout service. Having to blow out the hair is not a service that is factored into your day of hair itinerary and can be detrimental to your time to be out the door and down the aisle! If this service is requested as the style the guest is wearing then we will accommodate accordingly.
This is surely a case-by-case possibility. We advise booking an early morning trial during a summer day and advise our brides to spend at least the amount of time outside that you would be spending outdoors for your big day. This will give your hair a proper drive. If your curls and style can withstand the whole day from your morning trial to the evening then you know you are good to go. If not then have your stylist try half up and half down styles and possibly soft draping all up hair with curls.
Alicia: One time I had a bride get her dress on and we found out that the seamstress forgot the eye hook at the top to keep the dress zipper from falling down... I had to sew her into her dress and make sure that her maid of honor had scissors on her to pass on to the groom at the end of the night. It created quite the memories and the best review! She is now a forever client of mine!
Angie: It was my cousin's wedding and she had a panic attack so I had to give her a shot to calm her nerves and get her to take the leap! She was grateful to me after!
